Understand why it matters.

Bring a problem you care about. Work towards a functioning product and a case study that explains your thinking, from customer research to product decisions.

  • Product judgement: understand users, make trade-offs and measure what matters.
  • AI fluency: use AI throughout research, planning, building and iteration.
  • Proof of work: demonstrate your product and explain the choices behind it.
What you’ll work on

The full journey.
One connected project.

These learning areas bring the published course outcomes together. Maven has the current session-by-session syllabus.

01Understand the problem

Discover who you are building for. Explore customer needs, business context, market dynamics and the assumptions that need evidence.

You’ll work towards: Customer research and a clear problem statement.
02Make the product decisions

Connect goals to metrics. Decide what matters, prioritise features and explain what you will build first.

You’ll work towards: A product brief, priorities and a measurement plan.
03Build with AI

Use AI tools and Claude Code to turn your thinking into a working product. Learn when and how to use the tools as you build.

You’ll work towards: A working prototype you can demonstrate.
04Create a feedback loop

Explore how AI and connected tools can help you organise feedback, review usage and decide what to improve.

You’ll work towards: An improvement backlog informed by feedback.
05Tell the story of your work

Explain the problem you chose, the decisions you made and what you learned. Work through your project with Dave.

You’ll work towards: A reviewed case study that shows your judgement.

Before you join

A few good questions.

Do I need to know how to code?
Prior coding experience is not required. The course introduces building with AI, including Claude Code. You will still need to work through problems, review what the tools produce and practise between sessions.
Can I do this alongside a full-time job?
Maven describes a commitment of around 5–6 hours a week. This includes live learning, self-paced material and project work. Check the current cohort schedule on Maven before joining.
What if I miss a live workshop?
Live sessions are recorded so you can catch up. Check the cohort schedule and make time for your project and private coaching.
How is this different from the self-paced course?
The live cohort centres on building with AI and includes weekly workshops, five private coaching sessions and direct project feedback. The existing self-paced courses focus on product foundations and career development.
What will I build?
You will work on a functioning product and a case study that explains the problem, your decisions and what you learned. Bring an idea you can scope and practise on over the five weeks.
Where should I start if I’m new to AI?
Start with the free AI Foundations course. It introduces the concepts and includes practical labs. Join the live cohort when you want a guided build and personal feedback.
